Application Deadlines

The Baylor DPT Admissions Committee is now accepting applications for the cohort starting in June 2027.

Applications must be submitted by the deadline and must include all supporting materials detailed below. Applicants may submit one application per admissions cycle. Late applications will not be accepted.

*Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply by the priority deadline to maximize chances for admission and scholarship opportunities.

All of the following materials must be submitted to PTCAS to complete the application process:

  1. Official Transcripts: Applicants must arrange for PTCAS to receive an official transcript from each college and university attended. Students who have completed coursework outside of the United States will be required to submit a World Education Services (WES) report along with international transcripts to PTCAS.

NOTE: Prerequisite courses must be completed prior to enrolling in the Baylor DPT program, but may still be in progress when the application to the program is submitted. To be eligible to start in June 2027, all admissions requirements must be completed by June 20, 2027.

  2. Letters of Recommendation: Applicants must arrange for two letters of recommendation to be submitted electronically through PTCAS. Each evaluator providing a reference will be contacted using an email address provided in PTCAS by the applicant.
  3. Graduate Record Examination (GRE): Submission of GRE scores is optional. Applicants who believe their GRE scores add meaningful context to their academic record may choose to include them with their application. To be considered, Applicants must arrange for the Educational Testing Service (ETS) to send their official GRE scores to PTCAS using the Baylor DPT code 2219. More information for this process can be found here.
  4. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): If English is not an applicant’s first (primary) language, official TOEFL scores must be submitted to the Baylor Graduate School using the Institution Code 6032. More information for this process can be found here.

When an application is submitted in PTCAS, it will move through three PTCAS statuses. Baylor DPT does not receive or review applications until they have moved through the PTCAS verification process. Applicants are encouraged to track their application as it moves through these PTCAS statuses and follow up with PTCAS directly if the application doesn’t move forward as expected.

Submitted:The application has been submitted and is awaiting verification
Complete:The application is submitted and all required documentation is accounted for
Verified:The application is submitted, complete, and has successfully moved through the PTCAS verification process. Verified applications are sent to Baylor DPT for review.

NOTE:  If an applicant chooses to utilize the PTCAS professional transcript entry service, the applicant MUST log back into PTCAS and approve the transcript work when complete. If this step is missed, the application will be considered incomplete and will not be sent to Baylor for review.

ADMISSIONS GUIDING PRINCIPLE: The Baylor University Doctor of Physical Therapy program admits, educates, and graduates accomplished individuals who are intellectually curious and culturally diverse. Ideal applicants are individuals driven to be passionate physical therapists who exemplify Baylor University’s mission of service.

The DPT Admissions Committee will review all completed applications in the order of receipt. Applicants are evaluated based on the following items:

  • Cumulative GPA
  • Pre-requisite GPA
  • Recent GPA
  • Letters of Recommendation
  • Personal Essay

Other factors considered, but not required:

  • GRE verbal percentile rank
  • GRE quantitative percentile rank
  • Relevant work experience
  • Observation hours
  • Prior military experience

The DPT Admissions Committee will use this evaluative process to ensure nondiscrimination and equal opportunity for all applicants. The DPT admissions committee will grant admission interviews by invitation only.

Submission of additional information and materials may be requested. The applicant is responsible for timely submission of additional information. If these requests cannot be fulfilled immediately, the applicant should contact Amanda Singh, DPT Admissions Manager, at Amanda_Singh@baylor.edu.

The DPT Admissions Manager will contact selected applicants and provide instructions for completing the interview process. All interviews are conducted using a web-based, video platform called Kira Talent. Applicants will record their responses to a series of interview questions and complete a timed writing sample as part of the interview. Applicants must have a computer with webcam and internet service to complete this interview. Interview submissions will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee as part of the evaluative process.

The DPT Admissions Committee will accept students into the program based on a holistic evaluation of their application, supporting documents, and interview.

Admissions decisions will begin to be released on or after the priority deadline of October 1, 2026 and on a rolling basis thereafter. All applicants will be notified by phone or email regarding final selection decisions.

Accepted applicants must confirm their admission within 10 days of receiving an offer. A non-refundable $500 tuition deposit is required to secure a seat in the program and must be submitted by January 15, 2027. Applicants who receive an offer of admission after the January 15 deadline must accept the offer and submit the $500 non-refundable tuition deposit within 10 days of receipt. The full deposit amount will be applied toward tuition for the first trimester.
