Application Procedures
Baylor receives applications exclusively through the Physical Therapist Central Application Service (PTCAS), provided by the American Physical Therapy Association. Application instructions can be found at PTCAS. Information about the Baylor University DPT Program can be found here.
Applying for Admission
The Baylor University Doctor of Physical Therapy Program is now accepting applications for students who wish to start the program in 2026. There will be two available start dates in 2026:
- The Baylor DPT Class of 2027 will begin coursework in early January 2026 and graduate in December 2027.
- The Baylor DPT Class of 2028 will begin coursework in late June 2026 and graduate in August 2028.
It is strongly encouraged that all applicants thoroughly review the instructions for submitting an application through PTCAS as available for download through the PTCAS website before attempting to apply to the Baylor University Doctor of Physical Therapy Program.
Supporting Materials
All of the following materials must be submitted through PTCAS:
Official Transcripts: Applicants must arrange for PTCAS to receive an official transcript from each college and university attended. International applicants will be required to submit a World Education Services (WES) report along with international transcripts to PTCAS for all coursework completed outside the US.
NOTE: Prerequisite courses must be completed prior to enrolling in the Baylor DPT program, but may still be in progress when the application to the program is submitted.
- Graduate Record Examination (GRE): Applicants must arrange for the Educational Testing Service (ETS) to send official GRE scores through PTCAS using the code designated specifically for the physical therapy program. The PTCAS Program Code for the Baylor University Doctor of Physical Therapy Program is 2219.
- References: Applicants must arrange for letters of recommendation to be submitted electronically through PTCAS. Each evaluator providing a reference will be contacted using an email address provided in PTCAS by the applicant.
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): If English is not an applicant’s first (primary) language, official TOEFL scores must be submitted to dptadmissions@baylor.edu.
Application Submission
Before applying, applicants should decide which cohort they’d like to be considered for. To be eligible to start in January 2026, all admissions requirements must be completed by December 31, 2025. To be eligible to start in June 2026, all admissions requirements must be completed by June 20, 2026. It is possible to apply to both cohorts as long as the admissions requirements will be completed according to the required timelines.
January 16, 2025 | Applications open for both cohorts |
June 2, 2025 | Priority application window deadline for both cohorts |
October 1, 2025 | Final deadline for applicants wishing to start in January 2026 |
March 16, 2026 | Final deadline for applications wishing to start in June 2026 |
Applicants who are interested and available to start in either cohort can submit one single application for both start dates between January 16, 2025 – October 1, 2025. This option saves applicants the expense of submitting two separate applications for the two different cohorts.
Application submission will involve TWO separate steps:
- Submit application through PTCAS to include all required official documentation (listed above).
- Set up a Baylor Account and submit secondary application to specify which DPT cohort(s) you would like to be considered for. There is no fee for this secondary application.
Application Windows & Deadlines
The Baylor DPT program has two application windows for each entering class:
COHORT ENTERING JANUARY 2026
- January 16, 2025 – June 2, 2025 (Priority*)
- June 16, 2025 – October 1, 2025
COHORT ENTERING JUNE 2026
- January 16, 2025 – June 2, 2025 (Priority*)
- June 16, 2025 – March 16, 2026
The deadline for submitting all required application materials through PTCAS is 11:59PM EST on the dates listed above. This includes all official transcripts, GRE scores, and letters of recommendation. Late applications will not be accepted.
*Because seats in the Baylor DPT program are filled on a "first come, first served" basis, applicants are encouraged to apply during the Priority Application Window. Seats are awarded throughout the entire application cycle, and once all seats are full, additional students cannot be accepted into the program.
Applying during the first application window gives prospective students the earliest opportunity for application review and a greater likelihood for available seats. If a student is unable to apply during the Priority Application Window, it is highly encouraged to apply as early as possible during the Second Application Window.
Applicants may submit one application per admissions cycle.

Submission of additional information and materials may be requested. The applicant is responsible for timely submission of additional information and materials that may be requested. If these requests cannot be fulfilled immediately, the applicant should contact Amanda Singh, DPT Admissions Manager, at Amanda_Singh@baylor.edu.

The DPT Admissions Manager will contact selected applicants and provide instructions for completing the interview process. All interviews are conducted using a web-based, video platform called Kira Talent. Applicants will record their responses to a series of interview questions and complete a timed writing sample as part of the interview. Applicants must have a computer with webcam and internet service to complete this interview. Interview submissions will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee as part of the evaluative process.
Selection Process
The DPT admissions committee and faculty will accept students into the program based on a holistic evaluation of their application, supporting documents, and interview. All applicants will be notified by email and/or mail regarding final selection decisions.
