Physical Therapy is an exciting and rewarding career.
Physical Therapists have the opportunity to promote healing and enhance health for patients and make a lasting impact on their lives.
A career in physical therapy can be focused in many different directions. Doctors of Physical Therapy are general practitioners of the field and can treat diverse patient populations in an abundance of settings. Individuals who want to advance their careers can complete a residency and specialize in a specific avenue of physical therapy, such as geriatrics, orthopedics, pediatrics or sports.
Baylor DPT students are thoroughly prepared for meaningful careers.
Innovative online coursework gives students the didactic knowledge they need to succeed. Immersive labs help students master their hands-on skills. Students spend 31 weeks completing three clinical rotations where they are exposed to inpatient, outpatient, and specialty settings and receive guidance and encouragement while treating patients.
Throughout their time in the program and after graduating, students have access to the Baylor Career Center where a team of experts is ready to help them enter the workforce. From resume building to negotiating job offers, students are fully supported in taking these important steps toward their futures.
