Travel Expenses

Travel expenses associated with the Baylor Doctor of Physical Therapy program can vary based on individual circumstances and are the responsibility of the student. This includes expenses such as transportation to and from Baylor University for labs, lodging, meals, and incidentals. It is important to note that the curriculum includes nine on-site lab immersions over the course of the program as detailed within our academic calendars. We encourage students to plan ahead and budget accordingly for these expenses. Often, students can achieve significant savings by carpooling and sharing lodging with classmates during labs.

Notes on Tuition & Fees

  1. These are estimated costs for the entire program. Tuition, fees, and equipment costs are subject to change, however, when a student matriculates into the program, the starting tuition rate is locked and will not increase over the student's enrollment period for the program.
  2. Tuition for in-state and out-of-state residents is the same.
  3. Access to on-campus facilities, including on-campus parking and athletic events attendance, requires the payment of optional fees.
  4. Students are required to have a laptop computer, external webcam, and mobile device with reliable service in their possession at the onset of the program. For more information on computer requirements, click HERE.

Hear Their Stories

The RCHHS Dean’s Scholarship: Baylor University’s Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences awards merit-based scholarships to incoming students who have demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence. All students admitted into the program are considered for this prestigious scholarship—no separate application is required. Scholarship recipients will be notified of their award and its terms and conditions prior to their program start date.

Baylor DPT Light the Way Scholarship: The Baylor University DPT program offers the DPT Light the Way Scholarship to enrolled students after their first trimester in the program is complete. This scholarship provides at least one $1,000 award to a current student from each cohort, each year of the program. Selection criteria are based on alignment with Baylor DPT Values, academic status, financial need, underrepresented minority (URM) status, and an essay response. Being a member of a URM group is considered but not required to qualify for this scholarship.

Outside Scholarships:  There are numerous external scholarship and funding opportunities available to DPT students. We’ve compiled a selective list HERE. Applicants are encouraged to seek out additional scholarship and funding opportunities independently.

For more information on these scholarships please contact us at Robbins_Grad@baylor.edu or 254-710-4400.

Financial Aid

To be considered for federal, state, and Baylor need-based financial aid including loans, grants, and need-based Baylor scholarships, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). There is no fee to complete the FAFSA.

Baylor's school code is 003545. Baylor normally receives results of the FAFSA within two to three business days.

Financial Aid FAQs

The Baylor University DPT program offers the DPT Light the Way Scholarship. This scholarship will provide at least one $1,000 award to a current student from each cohort, each year of the program. Selection criteria are based on alignment with Baylor DPT Values, academic status, financial need, underrepresented minority (URM) status, and an essay response. Being a member of a URM group is considered but not required to qualify for this scholarship.

Also note that there are numerous external scholarship and funding opportunities available to DPT students. We’ve compiled a selective list here. Applicants are encouraged to seek out additional scholarship and funding opportunities independently.

The Baylor One Stop Student Financial Services department is available to assist students with all matters related to financial aid. Additional information can be found here.

We recognize that some students may desire to maintain some level of employment while enrolled in a DPT program. However, our students are full-time students in every sense of the term with course loads ranging from 15-19 credits per academic trimester. The academic demands and requirements of the curriculum (estimated between 45-55 hours per week), on-site lab immersions in Waco, and full-time clinical education experiences will make it very difficult for students to maintain an outside work schedule. We strongly discourage students from working during the first trimester of the program. After the first trimester, employment is still discouraged unless a student has demonstrated the ability to be academically successful. If a student decides to work at any time during the program, the hours worked must not interfere with the demands of the program and we request that students disclose employment status to the program.
