The Baylor DPT culture is one of connection and belonging.
Students build strong relationships with faculty and staff throughout their time in the program. Our Academic Coaching program connects each student with a faculty coach who will meet with them regularly to help them maximize growth during their time in the program- not just as a student, but also personally and professionally. A team of student support staff is readily available to assist at all points throughout the student journey.
In addition, opportunities for students to build relationships with classmates are intentionally included within the student experience. Students start to get to know each other before the program begins through online meetings that foster connection. At orientation, students are introduced to the program, the profession, and a variety of student-led groups and clubs they can choose to join to enhance their time in the program. Orientation centers on team-building, allowing students to break the ice and enjoy their first steps forward into their student community and future career.
Although the program is hybrid, the relationships are intentional and personal. Each Baylor DPT student is an important part of our community.

Knowing that Baylor was a hybrid program, I was initially concerned that creating connections with classmates would be difficult, as you don't get to spend as much time with each other as you would in an in-person program, but those concerns didn't last long. You will be surprised at how fast you become friends with the people around you!”
