“Trust God’s provision and guidance even in seasons that feel uncertain.” —MacKenzie Jennings, DPT ’24

What is your current role?

I am currently in residency in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

What are you currently doing to further your expertise as a physical therapist?

Through residency I am continuing to develop and refine my clinical reasoning while being challenged daily in the clinic and sport opportunities. It has been incredible, and I am very thankful to continue receiving support from mentors and friends at Baylor who still push me and encourage my growth.

What advice would you give to someone interested in your type of work?

Don’t be afraid to ask questions and lean on the mentors and people around you. Some of my biggest growth has come from uncomfortable or challenging situations, so continue seeking opportunities that push you to grow and keep showing up with humility and curiosity. Trust God’s provision and guidance even in seasons that feel uncertain.

Is there anything else you would like to share?

I am incredibly thankful for my time at Baylor and for the people it brought into my life. Many of those friendships and mentors are people I still talk with daily, and their influence continues to shape both my work and my life.

One of the most special parts of this current season is now getting to work alongside a Baylor mentor and friend, Josh Godfrey—who was my pod leader during our very first lab at Baylor and is now someone I get to work with in the clinic and continue learning from. Looking back, I can clearly see God’s faithfulness through my time at Baylor and in the path He has led since. I am grateful for the opportunity to keep growing and looking forward to the seasons ahead.
